SkyHopper by Mobilicom secures design win with French drone manufacturer Airborne Concept

  • SkyHopper PRO fully integrated across all Octopush multirotor drone platforms

SkyHopper by Mobilicom has secured a design win with leading French drone manufacturer and service provider Airborne Concept (‘Airborne’).

This marks the fourth design win from SkyHopper by Mobilicom since August as it seeks to secure eight such agreements by Q2 2018, thereby establishing significant market share in the growing commercial and industrial drone sector.

The new design win will see SkyHopper PRO integrated into Airborne’s multirotor drone Octopush. Octopush is intended for security and police operations, with contracts already in place with the French Army and French Police and Special Forces.

Airborne plans to purchase more than 400 SkyHopper units over the next three years for the Octopush drone system, yielding an estimated revenue of more than $750,000 to Mobilicom.

The operations conducted by Octopush will benefit from SkyHopper’s security capabilities as well as from Mobilicom’s proprietary encryption mechanism contained within the device.

Simultaneously, Airborne plans to equip its new Up-Start drone prototype with Mobilicom’s MCU advanced communication solution, bringing additional sales potential to the MCU product family. The Up-Start VTOL hybrid drone, unique to the drone world, contains unique features including vertical takeoff that make it suitable for delivery applications and will be used by a famousparcel carrier.
