  • Multinational technology leader Samsung purchases SkyHopper solution
  • Orders from six new customers across three continents
  • Repeat sales to existing customers in the US, France & Israel
  • SkyHopper becomes the first certified high power, long range, highly secured data link in Japan

Mobilicom Limited (Mobilicom) is pleased to report on recent wins with its SkyHopper by Mobilicom solutions across numerous new and existing key customers, generating growing revenues within the business.

Multinational technology leader Samsung purchases SkyHopper PRO

Mobilicom has completed an initial sale of SkyHopper PRO to multinational technology leader and top global brand, Samsung. The sale to Samsung was for use in drones performing security operations and inspections for its factories. The sale to a company of the size and caliber of Samsung is a testament to the quality and capabilities of the SkyHopper solution offerings.

Orders received from six new customers across three continents

In addition to Samsung, SkyHopper has continued to foster new business across the globe, with six new customers in the US, EMEA and APAC.

In the US, Easy Aerial, a manufacturer of autonomous drone systems that serves organisations including the Department of Defense, has purchased the SkyHopper solution for use in Japan. Censys Technologies, also a US drone company, has purchased SkyHopper for use in inspection applications. SkyHopper products were also recently sold to Taiwan-based ITRI, a research company for government projects, Video Drone, a Finnish drone manufacturer, and Nanomotion, an Israeli manufacturer of advanced sensors.

Repeat sales to existing customers in the US, France and Israel

SkyHopper has continued to retain business with its existing customer base and has garnered repeat sales with several companies across the US, France and Israel.

US-based Swift Engineering has purchased additional SkyHopper units for upcoming projects, including for its business in Japan in which the solution will be used for electrical power inspections. SkyHopper was also sold to two French drone companies, with sales to Drone Volt to be used for civilian professional UAVs while Azur Drones will use SkyHopper in its leading surveillance UAVs. Israel-based DroneX has also placed orders for the SkyHopper solution.

SkyHopper becomes the first certified high power, long range, highly secured data link in Japan

Mobilicom received the Japanese high-power transmission certification for its SkyHopper data links, making SkyHopper the first certified high power, long range, highly secured data link in Japan. The high-power certification comes after SkyHopper received the low-power Japanese TELEC certification at the end of 2017, enabling the business to lock in sales for projects in Japan.

Commenting on the sales wins and progress being achieved in the SkyHopper by Mobilicom business, CEO Oren Elkayam said: “We are continuing to attract some of the biggest names in the drones and electronics sector to our SkyHopper offerings, and are subsequently growing this business as the commercial drone industry continues to expand. By achieving sales wins with these customers it positions SkyHopper well for the large ramp up we expect in the use of commercial drone systems, as the regulations will begin to allow for more drone applications and further testing.”

Israel Navy places purchase order of more than $280,000 for Mobilicom’s Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution

  • New win of a strong reference customer
  • 2019 revenue from the Israel Ministry of Defense (MOD) for the Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution has now exceeded $850,000

Mobilicom Limited (Mobilicom) is pleased to announce that its breakthrough Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution has achieved a new win with a leading reference customer, the Israel Navy, after receiving an order for more than $280,000.

Mobilicom’s sales of this solution to-date have been to the Israel Army and this new purchase order shows the increased interest for the solution across several MOD units and applications.

The Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution is an after-market add on for drone units already sold within the market. It was developed as a result of the US ban on the use of certain types of drones in security operations as a result of backdoor cyber risks.

This system of Mobilicom’s has now generated more than $850,000 in revenue from the MOD in 2019 alone, with several repeat sales, putting it well on track to achieve its target of $1 million from the MOD by the end of calendar 2019.

Mobilicom’s CEO Oren Elkayam commented: “Providing the Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution to a new customer and application is a testament to its offering of a solution in high demand by the market it serves. The Israel Navy is an excellent reference that will support the continued expansion of the solution within the MOD and worldwide. Mobilicom has already been made the sole provider for this solution to the MOD, and therefore the revenue potential is significant.”

Mobilicom receives orders exceeding $200,000 from Japanese telco giant NTT

• Multiple orders expected per year
• Mobilicom’s solution sold to NTT is a kit that includes multiple MCU products for deployment in disaster relief situations
• NTT is the fifth largest telecommunications company in the world, with about 5 times the revenue of Telstra

Mobilicom Limited (Mobilicom) is pleased to announce that it has received new purchase orders from Japanese telecommunications giant, Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corporation (NTT), exceeding $200,000. In addition, NTT has indicated that it expects to place multiple orders per year.

The purchase orders will see kits from Mobilicom, each including approximately ten of its MCU products, serving the Japanese Self Defense Forces (SDF) for disaster relief initiatives across the country. The SDF is comprised of ground, naval and air divisions, with each division having a presence across each of the cities and prefectures in Japan. This provides Mobilicom with a very large potential sales magnitude with NTT, given the opportunity to deploy a kit within each SDF unit, across its various divisions and geographies.

NTT is the fifth largest telecommunications company in the world¹, as well as the third largest publicly traded company in Japan after Toyota and MUFG2. It is ranked 65th in Fortune Global 500 and listed on the Tokyo, Osaka, New York and London stock exchanges.

The order from NTT is another example of ongoing deployments of Mobile MESH networks using Mobilicom’s MCU products. It can be deployed within vehicles, mobile command posts, trees and masts to enable private secured communications.

Mobilicom CEO Oren Elkayam commented: “Following a rigorous testing and demonstration process with NTT, it is an exciting achievement for us to be selling these kit solutions to NTT for its ongoing initiative with the SDF. We are embarking on an effort to extend this across the various SDF units throughout Japan, and therefore multiply sales of these kits as an ongoing business.”

Breakthrough Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution released Additional $572,000 purchase order from Israel Ministry of Defense

  • Mobilicom has released a commercial drone upgrade solution for the after-market in response to the US Ban on certain 3rd party solutions which pose a back door cyber risk.
  • Mobilicom anticipates 2019 revenue from this solution to exceed $1 million
  • This solution is capable of being used as an add-on to a considerable number of existing drones in the market
  • New solution moves Mobilicom up the value chain within existing markets

Mobilicom Limited (Mobilicom) is pleased to announce that it has released a breakthrough Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution and has subsequently secured a $572,000 purchase order from the Israel Ministry of Defense (MOD).

Mobilicom’s groundbreaking Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution serves as an after-market add-on for drone units already sold within the market. Demand for the solution is driven by the US ban on use of certain types of drones in security operations as a result of a backdoor cyber risk.

As a direct result of the US ban, several other western countries have also banned the use of these drones in security operations. Mobilicom’s Commercial Drone Upgrade bypasses this security concern as it enables the continued use of these drones, by solving the backdoor cyber risk and adds advanced capabilities to the communication systems.

This new order from the MOD comes in addition to a purchase of more than $200,000 announced in September 2018. Mobilicom expects revenue from the newly released product to exceed $1 million in 2019.

The Commercial Drone Upgrade Kit enables Mobilicom to move up the value chain by offering a host of SkyHopper products, with third-party elements where necessary, to deliver a complete solution to existing customers within the same market.

Mobilicom’s CEO Oren Elkayam commented:

“Despite having just officially launched the new solution, Mobilicom already has sales impact and is well positioned to drive significant revenue this year with existing and new customers.”
