Deploying tech developed in Israel, Mobilicom has signed agreements to supply components with 74 of the 160 drone manufacturers globally.

Hart also noted the potential of additional memorandums of understanding (MOUs) the company has signed with other major distributors.

“They’ve also set up a communications platform which can operate independent of network infrastructure, which means it’s not dependent on towers or satellites,” he said.

“So that’s a relevant use-case on days like today in NSW, where emergency services in areas with low coverage could use a secure reliable communications network.

“So we think that gives the company a platform for growth that’s in line with the broader growth in commercial drone technology, because of their offerings that address a lot of those problems that applications in the sector are looking to solve.”

One of the first secured design wins for SkyHopper, Aero Sentinel has integrated the SkyHopper PRO across multiple drone platforms. Sales of these drone platforms has experienced a significant ramp-up, and additional and consistent orders for SkyHopper PRO units have been received.

Aero Sentinel manufactures homeland security and civil drones that cater to a broad international customer base. Key applications that Aero Sentinel serves include security & surveillance, first responder and search & rescue, all of which require highly secure and reliable communication.

Mobilicom Limited (Mobilicom) is pleased to announce that its breakthrough Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution has exceeded its goal of $1 million in orders in 2019, after a new repeat order exceeding $200,000.

Mobilicom is the sole provider of the Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution to the Israel MOD. This new purchase order shows a continued interest in the Mobilicom solution.

The Commercial Drone Upgrade Solution is an after-market add on for drone units already sold within the market. It was developed as a result of the US ban on the use of certain drones in security operations due to backdoor cyber risks.

Mobilicom Limited (Mobilicom) is pleased to announce that it has received and delivered on a purchase order exceeding $250,000 from leading provider of airborne surveillance solutions, Bird AeroSystems. This is a repeat order from the customer for Mobilicom’s MCU communication units.

Founded in 2001, Bird provides airborne solutions to some of the world’s largest commercial, governmental, military, and transnational organisations including Airbus, NATO forces, UN Air Operations, the US Government, major aircraft manufacturers and more.

The Mobilicom units will be used for Bird’s ASIO (Airborne Surveillance, Information and Observation) Special Mission System, which include airborne surveillance, intelligence and observation solutions. The ASIO system is used for the management of critical missions including maritime and ground surveillance, search and rescue, patrol and monitoring. They will be deployed in mobile command posts, aircraft, ground response vehicles and sea vessels.

Multinational technology leader Samsung purchases SkyHopper PRO

Mobilicom has completed an initial sale of SkyHopper PRO to multinational technology leader and top global brand, Samsung. The sale to Samsung was for use in drones performing security operations and inspections for its factories. The sale to a company of the size and caliber of Samsung is a testament to the quality and capabilities of the SkyHopper solution offerings.

Orders received from six new customers across three continents

In addition to Samsung, SkyHopper has continued to foster new business across the globe, with six new customers in the US, EMEA and APAC.

In the US, Easy Aerial, a manufacturer of autonomous drone systems that serves organisations including the Department of Defense, has purchased the SkyHopper solution for use in Japan. Censys Technologies, also a US drone company, has purchased SkyHopper for use in inspection applications. SkyHopper products were also recently sold to Taiwan-based ITRI, a research company for government projects, Video Drone, a Finnish drone manufacturer, and Nanomotion, an Israeli manufacturer of advanced sensors.

Repeat sales to existing customers in the US, France and Israel

SkyHopper has continued to retain business with its existing customer base and has garnered repeat sales with several companies across the US, France and Israel.

US-based Swift Engineering has purchased additional SkyHopper units for upcoming projects, including for its business in Japan in which the solution will be used for electrical power inspections. SkyHopper was also sold to two French drone companies, with sales to Drone Volt to be used for civilian professional UAVs while Azur Drones will use SkyHopper in its leading surveillance UAVs. Israel-based DroneX has also placed orders for the SkyHopper solution.

SkyHopper becomes the first certified high power, long range, highly secured data link in Japan

Mobilicom received the Japanese high-power transmission certification for its SkyHopper data links, making SkyHopper the first certified high power, long range, highly secured data link in Japan. The high-power certification comes after SkyHopper received the low-power Japanese TELEC certification at the end of 2017, enabling the business to lock in sales for projects in Japan.

Commenting on the sales wins and progress being achieved in the SkyHopper by Mobilicom business, CEO Oren Elkayam said: “We are continuing to attract some of the biggest names in the drones and electronics sector to our SkyHopper offerings, and are subsequently growing this business as the commercial drone industry continues to expand. By achieving sales wins with these customers it positions SkyHopper well for the large ramp up we expect in the use of commercial drone systems, as the regulations will begin to allow for more drone applications and further testing.”
